John
Mowell, LCI.
John
Mowell entered into the private investigations profession after
serving three years in the United States Army Infantry. While assigned
to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and the 2nd Infantry
Division (Korea), John gained the experience necessary to conduct
woodland reconnaissance and surveillance missions.
As
a private investigator, this training was then utilized to specialize
in Corporate Defense Investigations which require continued surveillance
of personal injury claimants from woodland and other locations in
an effort to expose fraud and note their actual physical capabilities.
After completing three years of on the job training
and learning many aspects of investigations, John founded
Mowell Investigations, Inc. in January, 1995. Since then he has
been tested and certified as a Louisiana Certified Investigator,
"LCI", from the Louisiana Private Investigator's Association.
He is also certified as a Fraud Investigator, "CFI", through
the International Fraud Training Institute. John has also written
columns for the Louisiana Private Investigator Association's journal,
"The LPIA Journal".
On September 19, 1996 John was appointed by Louisiana
Governor Mike Foster to serve on the Louisiana State Board of Private
Investigator Examiners. Originally a general committee member, John
worked with the Training and Education Committee and helped develop
a standard format for the private investigator's course being taught
by universities throughout the state. John has also been a course
instructor for the University of Southwestern Louisiana's Basic
Private Investigator's Course.
In 1999 John was appointed as the State Board's
Investigatory Officer. As the Investigatory Officer, he was tasked
with determining the validity of complaints filed against investigators
and managing the prosecution of investigators who violated
state laws.
